1. FUTIT Services

   Software Developer

   (2015 - 2021)

   Provided development and consulting services for clients around the world, mostly using Java, Javascript and Postgres.

   • Maintained existing React Native mobile applications
   • Developed a dynamic mobile UI for an existing backend with React Native and Typescript
   • Helped lead the development of a fork of an existing ERP app, with aims to modernize the development stack and UI, improving or replacing legacy frameworks, technologies and practices.

2. Eventbrite

   Full Stack Software Developer II

   (June 2022 - Present)

   Joined the Pricing & Taxes team and worked in close collaboration with the Consumer SEO team and the Localization team for different projects.

   Mantained a core monolith and services created in Django + MySQL, alongside a new service created in Kotlin, deployed in AWS with ECS + Fargate and built with Terraform using IaC. Frontend codebase is in React/Redux with Typescript.

   
   

   Taxes

   • Brought the company in-line with critical tax compliance laws by implementing tax collection in new US jurisdictions. This work reduced the company's tax exposure by $2M/year.
   • Modified logic for how system displays important event level tax questions to users to better align with current US tax laws and obligations. This reduced EB's potential tax liabilities by thousands of dollars per year, and greatly improved the user experience of completing tax information
   • Remediated incorrect legacy code that was preventing users from entering their tax information. Correcting this lead to a slight uplift in creators finishing publishing events

   Pricing

   • Unwound complex legacy pricing and fees logic to update pricing rules for 6 different countries under tight timelines, in order to bring pricing in-line with the value our products offer to both consumers and creators. This included reworking the core of how we were charging pricing and fees in certain locations Changes are projected to drive several million dollars of incremental revenue for the business in 2023.

   SEO

   • Helped the Consumer SEO team reach their deliverable objectives during a single quarter. Took charge of the Attendee Breadcrumbs project (backend & frontend) after a swift onboarding, allowing the team to deliver it in time for its deadline.

   Localization

   • Took charge of the development side and worked in tandem with the Localization Team for the Spanish for US project, which consisted in enabling the Spanish language for US customers across the site.

   Bugs

   • Reduced backlog of inherited legacy system bugs by 50%+ in just 2 quarters without sacrificing velocity on core business projects.

   Documentation

   • Created robust system documentation to ensure resiliency and scalability while also maintaining velocity on critical initiatives.
